Fundraising FAQs

How do I register my fundraising event?

To ensure your fundraising event can be approved by the Fundraising Committee (FRC) in a timely manner, please ensure to submit your Event Planning Form and Event Budget to admin@rideforyouth.com.au. At the same time you will also need to register your event online via your fundraising dashboard. View the instructions on how to setup your fundraising dashboard.

What event platform do I use for my team fundraising event?

The Hawaiian Ride for Youth has an event platform which enables you to sell tickets for your event – teams must use this system to sell event tickets. Once your event has been approved by Youth Focus you can then use your online event to advertise and sell tickets.

On completion of your event, please send through your budget reconciliation, and the Hawaiian Ride for Youth team will reconcile your event and allocate the funds raised across your team members or allocated riders.

Here is the guide to set up your event.

Should I fundraise as a team or individually?

The short answer is both. Fundraising is more fun as a group and by putting your collective efforts, skills and expertise together you can create a fundraising event that has the potential to raise a lot of funds for youth mental health.

By fundraising individually, you can engage your family, friends and colleagues to support you, and build on your fundraising total to meet and even exceed your goal. Update your profile page with a profile picture, background cover image and your personal reason for participating in the Hawaiian Ride for Youth. Then share your fundraising page amongst your networks. And don’t be afraid to ask more than once. Life gets busy and people forget so a gentle reminder might prompt them to donate. Work with all your networks; friends, family, co-workers, sporting clubs, cycling groups, interest or hobby groups, school parent groups, neighbours. Just make sure to say thanks once you’ve received a donation.

Are there any guidelines I need to follow to promote my fundraising on social media or in the media?

Yes, we have produced a social media guide for you that includes some useful tips.

Are there any fundraising guidelines I need to consider?

We do ask that you request our Fundraising Terms and Conditions, so that you can plan a successful fundraiser that makes a meaningful impact.

You should also consider the cost of your event in the context of your fundraising target – keeping costs as low as possible means that you’re maximising the funds that go to support young people in WA. In general, we ask that your expenses not exceed 40% of your total fundraising.

A great way to keep your costs down is to ask local businesses and your networks if they can donate venues, catering and prizes.

Please contact the Youth Focus Fundraising Team on 08 6266 4333 or via admin@rideforyouth.com.au if you have any queries or concerns.

How do I order an eftpos machine and pull up banner for my fundraising event?
