In March 2026, I will take part in my first Hawaiian Ride for Youth – a challenge that fills me with excitement, gratitude, and plenty of nerves. Having supported the event for several years as part of the rides Support Crew, I’ve seen firsthand the powerful impact it has. During this time, my family and I have built incredible friendships and a strong support network that carried us through my own breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Mental health is deeply personal to me – beginning with my sister, and later as I watched my daughters face their own struggles. I know how difficult it can be to find the right support.
This ride will see me ride 700km from Albany to Perth, visiting regional schools along the way to share stories and open conversations about mental health, wellbeing, and suicide prevention.
For me, the ride is about more than cycling – it’s about connection, friendships, and continuing the conversation within my own family and beyond. By riding, I hope to contribute to the life-changing work Youth Focus does to support at-risk young people.
