This event and Youth Focus are incredibly powerful and important to young West Australians, and therefore all of us too!
Suicide is the leading cause of death among young Australians.
We should all be actively supporting this great initiative to help secure our collective future.
This is such an important annual event helping the team at Youth Focus continue providing invaluable support to young people.
I've been fortunate to work with the team at Youth Focus in a professional capacity, and I can not speak highly enough of just how terrific an organisation it is!
The ongoing support and incredible outcomes they deliver in assisting young people facing or dealing with mental health issues is truly remarkable.
And what makes it even more important are the stark statistsics about youth suicide in Western Australia, and nationwide.
Suicide continues to be the leading cause of death for people under 25, locally and nationally.
Funding to support mental health has never been more urgent than right now!
I'm excited to be back in the saddle and eager to ramp up training over the next 5 months in preparation for the upcoming ride week covering 700km in five days.
The sacrifices I will make over the coming months are nothing compared to what some young people are enduring in these challenging times.
