The stresses of daily life can be overwhelming in today's Western society, especially where traditional social support networks are being replaced by virtual social media networks.
We've likely all been touched by mental health issues at some stage where friends or family have struggled to cope, or worse.
As a father of four children, I have an appreciation of the impact that unrealistic expectations of peer groups and social media has on young people's self-esteem. And I celebrate the little wins young people achieve as they learn to manage their daily stresses.
Self-esteem is just one of the many mental health issues that Youth Focus actively helps young people with today.
