After getting into cycling about 4 years ago, this is my first involvement with the Hawaiian Ride for Youth charity ride.
I am excited to be involved in the 2024 ride as it provides me with a fantastic opportunity to give back to the communities we live in (whilst engaging in a sport I love) and raise funds for Youth Focus to enable enhanced provision of mental health services to our youth and their families.
The Hawaiian Ride for Youth is held annually (this year from19 to 23 March) across 4.5 days with riders covering over 700kms from Albany to Perth.
My participation will see me riding through the Wheatbelt region of WA visiting high schools along the way and engaging with students on the importance of positive mental health.
I am very grateful to have a happy and healthy family with 3 young children (aged 9, 7, and 3) and doing the Ride for Youth is a great way to show them how we as individuals and as part of a team, can make significant contributions to charitable causes, and how the power of a positive mindset can impact those around us.
