Harold Boots was established in 1928 in Melbourne by current rider Oscar Harold’s great great grandfather Fredrick Harold who came from a long line of shoemakers from Leicestershire in England. Fred’s son, Alec and then his son, Ian (Oscar’s grandfather) ran the factory in Abbotsford until 2008 when production was moved offshore. The boots continue to be made today using high-quality Australian leather from Packer Leather in Queensland, with production now based in Vietnam. Ian visited Vietnam many times following his retirement to help with the production and reckons they make a better boot than he did in Abbotsford!
