New Deputy Chair of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth Organising Committee

Go Back

The Hawaiian Ride for Youth Organising Committee (HRFYOC) is delighted to announce that Mark Cockayne has officially been appointed as its Deputy Chair. This decision was made at the HRFYOC meeting held on Monday 10 June 2024.

Mark has been an integral part of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth for over 10 years, bringing a wealth of experience and passion to the event. Mark has been a member of the HRFYOC since 2023, and has played key leadership roles, within the HRFYOC and during the event itself, having been a Ride Lead in 2023 and 2024 and as a member of the coaching team.

In accordance with the HRFYOC Charter, the role of Deputy Chair is also the Chair elect. Therefore, Mark will assume the position of Chair when the current Chair, Ross Kyrwood, completes his two-year term when the 2025 ride is complete.

The HRFYOC would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing Deputy Chair – rider #30 – Phil Cousins, for his invaluable support and dedication. Phil’s leadership and experience has been instrumental in guiding the Chair and the Committee, and the HRFYOC is grateful for his commitment to the cause. Phil will continue to serve on the HRFYOC in a member capacity.

Thank you, Phil, for your exceptional leadership and continued commitment to the Hawaiian Ride for Youth. Best wishes to Mark Cockayne in his new role as Deputy Chair.
